"In terms of personality, I can't really form an opinion just yet." she stated "But as of now, they seem like an interesting group of individules. Now as for them in the battle we just got out of...." Jintama looked at the rest of the group for the moment before looking down. "Not gonna lie, they put one hell of a fight. It's sad to see some people suffer or even worse, die." She glanced at what's going with Qunicy. "Kiiinda makes me feel a little guilty for being an ass earlier but I also have kinda a reason for my shit attitude." "Yes, to think we would suffer losses so early on..." Vervain paused, lost in thought for a bit. "I suppose, if anything, this teaches us that none of us can be unaffected by the the beasts. We've all lost something important at this point." A few brief moments of companionable silence passed between them. "Earlier," he began, "it sounded as if you were beating yourself up over not having any healing abilities. Is that true?"

"Y-You over heard what I said to myself earlier?!?!" She exasperated, before looking at the opposite direction, feeling embarrased "Well... I guess I can tell you. It's not like I wanted to tell anyone about this or anything. But if I must, I must." She sighed as faced Vervain. "At back then, I originally wanted to be a healer. But my 'friend' suggested that I should be more into combat, when they had the assumtion that healers are 'weaklings'." Her eye twitched just saying that. "But of course, my 'friend' always assumes the wrong shit so I shouldn't be to surprised. But even still, I choose to fight with eletric abilities. Needless to say, I can never go back to healing."

Eliza observed with a quirked eyebrow at Florence's recent exclamation of a "prophet" being able to cure the afflicted. If she was being frank, she'd truthfully believe it to be a scam being that seemingly much too many had already succumbed to the curse's influence. With all the panic and fear about, it would be the perfect time do so being how desperate the civilians were for hope. Or perhaps she hadn't heard of the name being it could have been a privilege for the wealthy. That would make sense. A sigh escaped her lips, her pupils wandering to the other side of the room...
The small fellow refuted, albeit in a wavering tone that suggested uncertainty. Pippin hadn't provided any solid counter information to make a proper rebuttal, but regardless she almost wanted to say the same. A priest wasn't exactly the beacon of comfort in her dire time, but rather just focused the eyes of judgement even harder onto her. "I'd like to be better again."
While before Eliza was mostly bewildered on the fledgling's changes and stood afar with pity; the words struck a sort of familiarity within her own being. They were both changing, possibly to the point of no return. In a peculiar way, they were sitting in the same boat but rather on different sides. There wasn't a force binding them together, but rather just a similar problem that provoked empathy. If it ended up a trick in poor taste, then they could always turn around she supposed. However, that didn't necessarily fix her problem with initially meeting in the first place.
"If you guys are interested in it; it's worth a shot," she nodded, her eyes fixated on Pippin, "If it's trouble, I'm sure we can take care of it, but..." her voice trailed off as she planted her cheek upon her palm in contemplation. "...We can stay outside, if you want. I don't really have a need to see him either..."

Vervain slightly smiled at that. "Healers can accomplish many great things. The strength of ones magic does not directly correlate to 'weakness'. All magic is strong in its own right, whether it's designed for defensive capabilities or offensive capabilities."
He pondered for a bit, tapping his chin repeatedly. "You can do more than just fight with your lightning magic. Lightning, at its base, is really just a free form of energy. For example, you can condense it into a sword and use that to attack. But what would happen if you used your powers as a way of strengthening other magic through the transferring of energy? You'd be sharing you strength with others, and that simple act of teamwork can turn the tide in any battle. What would happen if instead of forming it into something tangible that you could hold, you discharge electricity in an area around you, creating a barrier? The high heat would likely stop any projectiles from hitting your allies by destroying it before it could do any damage, of course depending on its composition. There are many uses for your power; lightning is very flexible. You should try experimenting with it. Maybe if you ask the others, they'll be able to give you some ideas."
Vervain realized that he'd been rambling for a while now and decided to tone it down. He had to admit, it felt good - teaching again. "Don't ever think you're useless, Jintama. And for what it's worth," Vervain said, standing up from his position, figuring he'd leave Jintama alone to think about how she can make the most of her abilities for the team. "I think you'd be the strongest healer."
Bidding the young girl a farewell, Vervain considered seeking out the Headmaster to catch up, but put that thought on hold. There was something else that demanded his attention first.
"Hello, Eli." Vervain had decided to have a quick chat with Eliza while the thought was on his mind. "This place sure brings back some memories, no?" He said, gesturing around the college with his free hand.

She felt that Florence and Qunicy might've hate her already, so that might out of the question. Maybe asking Pipin and Eli would work? We'll see what happens. Step one to make better impression is to stop being an asshole. She place her hand on her chin and began to think. "They do sound like good ideas....." She muttered to herself.

Pippin looked between Quincy and Florence, heart sinking along with his posture as his rather feeble attempts at persuasion failed him. "No! We can't go because..." The goblin had no solid reasoning. He shut his mouth and puffed his cheeks in protest. "I told you guys! It's. No. Good," Pippin straighten his postured and viciously clapped along with each enunciated word, the only thing he could think of at the moment to possibly make himself more of a presence- the only he could do to be takening seriously and not be treated like a child.
Upon realizing how childish he must have seemed the goblin shot back down, cheeks flushed. "I... I'm not going back there. If there's ever a CHANCE he'll see me..." Pippin muttered to the ground, all previous vigor lost.

Pippin muttered to the ground, all previous vigor lost. Florence's brow furrowed at the goblin's insistent urge to stay away from the manor. She looked towards the people who'd begun gathering, a light pink painting her face as she hadn't thought this would turn into an argument, nor did she want it to continue down that road. She placed a hand on her hip and pointed the other one at Quincy. "If there's a chance that we can help Quincy, then I'm gonna take it! Plus, the blue beacon is coming from Connelly's manor anyways, so we'd have to go there eventually! If you don't want to come along, that's your choice. I can't make you." Her tone wavered slightly with the last sentence, the idea of losing yet another teammate beginning to wear on her. "But Quincy is my teammate, and I'm gonna do whatever I can to help her! Even if I have to do it myself!" She stomped her foot on the ground with her final statement, as if to assert herself even further. "The whole point of making this team was to help people, and that's what I'm gonna do!"

Eliza was taken aback by the sudden outburst, only to see the goblin's shoulders slink back down dejectedly. Does he know the priest? Whatever the reason was, the fellow outright refused even being within a mile's length of the man. "Well- Florence is our guide, and Quincy could probably use the visit..." a hand strayed to the back of her neck, rubbing it as her eyebrows drew together, "If you really can't be near him," an eyebrow raised in slight suspicion, "I don't mind staying behind with you, but this is Florence's decision. It might be better if we stayed as a group as well." Eliza shrugged, "Ah, but those are my thoughts. I'm sorry if it's uncomfortable," the corners of her lips drooped. Truthfully, she had wanted to talk with Pippin more, but they weren't quite on the same page at the moment and she wasn't ready to push him any farther.
The sudden voice took Eliza off guard, scaring her slightly as she made a slight jump in place. Vervain. While she considered him a friend, seeing his face now made her stomach churn and throb. "O-oh, yes! It's a... little saddening with the state it's in currently- but! The dean is still here! That surely is a good sign, yes?" she urged her lips curl, swallowing down all the fears as she did so. Yes- it was a good thing the headmaster was still operating, but at her current state she wasn't sure if she'd live to see the college return to its former glory. "Are you alright, by the way? I mean you seem fine but-," her pupils scanned her elder from head to toe, looking for any visible signs of bodily injury, "I'm no expert when it comes to medical aid."

Pippin let out something bairly audible, a growl? And sunk down even lower. "He can't see me without them..." he muttered, looking away from the group.
He could leave. There was the woman from the school, he could hang around her and stay safe... if she wanted him. She probably saw him and his skill set worthless. Few and far between were goblins spellcasters. They seemed to lack much of an affinity towards magic, and their short lifespans left spending years honing the craft impractical.
There was the odd exception, hobgoblins and halfbloods. Pippin once hear tale of a tree goblin alchemist who had managed to outlive humans through meditation. Yet those were all exceptions, rareities. AKA not him. There was no way he'd be accepted here. Florence's group was still his only chance at survival, which meant he was powerless to their wills.
"... it doesn't matter," Pippin shook his head. "Do whatever you want, I'll go."
Now he just had to come up with a lie to tell the priest.

Vervain waved away the question. "I happened to strain my hip during our recent scuffle. Young Pippin offered his medical knowledge, so I'm quite fine, for the most part." As far as appearances go. Vervain eyed the prodigy before him, taking in her posture and facial expressions. She looks stressed. Worried. A little impatient, and... Was it fear he sensed? Fear of what? The current state of the city or the school? The fear of losing another team member to the mysterious beasts? Or did she fear for her life?
Vervain kept his silent appraisal of Eliza to himself. "Let's talk about you, Eli. Are you alright? You can talk to me, you know."
